Just thought I'd post this here in case you haven't seen this site before.  Once in a while I'll go there just to drool.  There are lots of free patterns for the dolls (and for that matter, how to make frilly men's underwear ;)

Hello all.
I've been in a dolly slump, but a rainy afternoon and a thrift store Ricky equals finally having something to post.

I hate sewing for boy dolls because my pants always look frumpy, but I think the fringe adds some flair to defrump a bit :)
What sewing goodies has everyone been working on?

This is my third attempt at OOAK furniture (yeah, I just don’t know when to quit). It's lot more sturdy than my first two attempts (you saw one of them... I tragically tore that thing apart trying to improve on it). XD and it has legs! Ok they're beads. It took me all afternoon to prepare....

Suddenly when I'm about to sew the first slip cover together....

My sewing kit vanishes.

Looks like I'll have to put this one off for a while.

Tips. Suggestions. etc etc.

Ok... I know this isn't dolly clothing ,but it took a heck of a lot of sewing to make possible. I'am sorry, but I needed to share it with someone... because my sister and her husband arn't around. T___T and I'am a loner....

Behold my sloppyness at couch covering (I've never been any good at gift wrapping...)

I had to cover it up... the sewn up internal structure was butt-ugly.

.... You can kinda still see the pins... I left in it...

Oh well, I can always unpin it and find a better kind of frabic to cover it up in... something a little more couchy like... like black or tan or something...

Please ignore that anatomically correct Art S. Buck Mannequin... she and her husband are new the my artistic office and she wanted to break the new couch in before the Barbie's come home.

Mulan likes a soft couch.

Very Simple! Maybe a little too simple...

My sister, her husband and I teamed up for this one and although she feels it's not quite done, I 'm proud of it! Her husband hasn't made any suggestions about adding any more to it so we haven't.

My biggest worry was that the sun flower pattern was going to be too big on the dress... it looks ok though. I think. My sister really wants to add a lime green bow ,but she can't decide on putting it on the butt or on the breast or waste.

I dunno about adding a bow... hmmm... I still thinki it needs a green waist trim ,but she doesn't seem to want that.

Oh the trouble with working with a sister!

I hope to do more this coming summer season!

I'm happy to find a site for making doll clothes! Because I want to make a Edie Sedwgewick and Marie Antoinette (based off of the 2006 movie) doll, and I'm going to need to make clothes.

Problem is, I haven't ever made clothes for anyone of anything. I have sewn felt pieces together and that is about it. Sad, huh? So I'm looking for advice for beginners! I have a couple of Marie Antoinette dresses picked out that I would love to make:
(the white one Kirsten is wearing)
Just for you guys to know what I need help with :3 And I fear that these will be to hard to make for me :(

Thank you all for at least reading this ^_^

Hi, I just found this community, and think it's such a great idea. I've been (attempting) to make doll clothes since my mom would let me hold a needle and thread, I think. Most of them have been disasters! Lately I've done a lot of custom My Little Ponies....and made a leather jacket for one of them...I used real leather from an old glove, and embroidered "zippers" on the sleeves and the "front" which is on the pony's tummy. It has snaps along the back to fasten it.

Picture here!Collapse )
